As the Lead Project Manager for Prairie Design Build, Joe provides clients with first-hand accountability through daily schedule updates and constant communication. Carefully tracking selections and budgets, Joe keeps the client and team updated with weekly job summaries and schedules for upcoming work. Joe was brought onto the PDB team for his reliability, adaptability, and vision of the big picture in building quality homes that stand the test of time. He prides himself as a “Practical Optimist,” which is where he derives his passion for the next generation of home building. He is now a certified Passive House Consultant, a tremendous honor in the energy efficiency world.
Joe was born and raised in Elgin, Illinois, before attending the University of Kansas. After seven years and three degrees, including a Master of Urban Planning, Joe moved to Northern Idaho to serve as an Americorps member. Despite the beautiful landscape of the West, and his LARGE and loving family in Chicago, he chose to settle in KC because of the city’s undeniably bright future.
Joe is a passionate, energetic communicator. As the son of a music teacher and an engineer, he’s constantly at the crossroads of form and function. This balance has served him well as a program manager in the non-profit, for-profit, private, and public sectors. Before moving to the construction industry, he also worked as a project manager in sustainability, education, and community outreach. This is Joe’s third year as Lead Project Manager for Prairie Design Build.
